There are many different campus resources to help you succeed here UCSC:
Academic Resources:
- Learning Support Services Located in the ARC building, services provided include Modified Supplemental Instruction (MSI), a form of group tutoring for selected classes. Additionally, subject-specific and writing tutoring for all UCSC students are provided, and employment opportunities for all UCSC students.
- Disability Resource Center This center provides accommodations for those with registered disabilities, as well as employment opportunities for all UCSC students.
Health Services:
- Student Health Center Provides comprehensive health care to students who have the school's health insurance, USHIP. Even if you don't have USHIP, there are free self-screenings, among other services.
- Counseling and Psychological Services Provides crisis counseling, support groups, self-help resources and other services.
- Campus Advocacy Resource & Education (CARE) Provides nonjudgmental support and resources for survivors of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking, and their significant others.
- Student Health Outreach & Promotion (SHOP) SHOP offers information, education, resources and support on issues such as Alcohol and other Drug Use, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Sexual Health, and College Life balance.
Resource Centers:
All Resource Centers serve specific constituencies, but none are exclusive of other identities/backgrounds/being-states. Please check out these dynamic spaces!
- Women's Center at UCSC affirms the diversity and dignity of all women. Although it is female-oriented, it is not male-exclusionary.
- Lionel Cantú Queer Center supports the exploration and examination of all sexual identities in a safe, inclusive and multi-cultural space.
- American Indian Resource Center promotes the American Indian student population on campus, and works toward acknowledging the tribes indigenous to the Santa Cruz area.
- African American Resource and Cultural Center provides support, resources and programming for UCSC students from the African diaspora.
